Nerve Injuries and Nerve Transfer

When a nerve is injured beyond repair, we may suggest a patient receive nerve transfer surgery. This surgery involves the rerouting of a healthy nerve by connecting it to the non-functioning or damaged nerve. A successful nerve transfer allows the affected areas to regain sensation and function.

Neuroma Pain, Amputation Pain, and TMR

When a nerve is damaged by an injury, neuroma may occur. This disorganized growth of nerve cells can often cause pain or an unwanted tingling sensation in the affected area. To treat neuroma or amputation pain, our providers may suggest targeted muscle reinnervation (TMR).
